Introduction
Janaeen Al Iraq - Iraq GBC is a non-governmental organization established in Baghdad, Iraq, by professional engineers and experts in sustainability and green building design. It aims to address critical environmental challenges faced by the country, such as climate change and water scarcity, by increasing awareness about reducing environmental impacts, promoting sustainable and green building practices, and contributing to the development of the green economy in Iraq.
Our Vision
- Enhancing the correct practices of designing and constructing green buildings in order to create a built environment that provides healthy, just and cohesive societies.
- Responding to the vision of the World Green Building Council to bring about sustainable development through environmental, social and economic pillars.
- Protecting natural resources and local climate by supporting sustainable solutions and advocating for preserving green lands and wetlands.
Our Mission
- Spreading awareness of climate change challenges and of the importance of sustainable development and the gradual transformation of the construction sector towards green building.
- Contribute to the development of the green economy in a manner that serves the environment and the health of the individual and society.
- Working to link Iraq to the global network of the World Green Building Council.
